Hi-BITS Paris Assembly Spotlights Progress and Collaboration

Hi-BITS consortium gathered in Paris on 1–2 October for its General Assembly, hosted by CNRS-IPVF and Saint-Gobain Recherche.

This pivotal meeting marked a significant milestone in the project’s second year, bringing together representatives from all partner institutions to discuss scientific progress, share results, and plan the path forward.

The two-day event featured in-depth discussions across all technical and horizontal work packages. Key sessions focused on the development of bifacial and semi-transparent CIGS solar cells, including the design of advanced contact structures and light management strategies. Other presentations addressed efficiency optimisation at module level, prototype development, real-world testing, and sustainability assessments.

The meeting also served as a platform to reinforce the project’s communication and exploitation strategy, with updates on visibility, stakeholder engagement, and planned outreach activities. A guided tour of IPVF and Saint-Gobain Recherche laboratories allowed partners to see recent experimental advances firsthand.

Hi-BITS continues to advance its mission to deliver next-generation thin film solar technologies with high efficiency, sustainability, and new application potential.
